The details

Once the internal walls were removed and the opening between the buildings was made, the foundations for the new structural steel lintel/portal assembly were laid: Reinforcing steel cages cast in concrete. The portal frame was then installed on the concrete pads between the classrooms after which the builders work to enclose the portal and connect it to the buildings were done. This includes new flashings to the roof for weather tightness.

The internal finishes include carpet tiles and specified vinyl for flooring finishes and wall treatments by Autex to provide some vibrant colours and acoustic benefits.
