The challenge

Designed to accommodate 112 children, it was important to create discrete, safe spaces for learning and interactions to take place among groups of children and teachers. Features of this build include extensive decking and contoured landscaping and playground areas complete with sandpits and shade sails. Textured precast concrete panels, timber, and sheet metal roofing and cladding together created a striking blend of form and function.

Our construction team integrated these elements with precision, and built them to last.

How we made a difference

  • Applied consistently high-quality workmanship and finishes to promote the enjoyment and safety of the end users – young children. High ceilings, detailed plywood, kitchen facilities, extensive decking and multiple rooms for children’s play are examples of where a high level of finish was achieved throughout. Our attention to detail made a real difference to the building’s longevity and easy maintenance. Through skilled project and site management we set the tone for the whole build team
  • Helped to redesign the building’s foundations to avoid substantial excavations due to underlying geotechnical conditions and keep the project on track to meet deadline
  • Skilfully and methodically sequenced the scheduling of trades to avoid tradespeople overcrowding the tight site with its numerous age-appropriate rooms and respective outdoor playgrounds with sandpits
