Big Save Westgate

The redevelopment of this bulk retail space involved splitting a large 3000m2 single tenancy into a multi-tenanted space with 3 separate units. A building entrance and shopfront joinery for each tenancy was established along one elevation, services and bathrooms were altered to suit.

Works included upgrading the shopfront elevation to bring a new architectural sharpness to the building. A combination of cladding materials were introduced, including, Alucobond, Equitone, Metal Standing Seam cladding, Spectrum Aluminium Window Shrouds, and Aluminium Shopfront Glazing – all of which combined to provide a modern and inviting space.

Big Save furniture and MyRide occupied the building and remained trading throughout the works. A key challenge of the works, was for Q Construction to sequence the activities to ensure the to ensure the tenants could remain trading with little disruption while we relocated them. We achieved this by creating a new staff room and workshop for staff first, then consolidated the trading area into their new space at the front of the store through a series of staged moves and coordinated services upgrades.
