New World Newmarket

This was the transformation of a run-down building, into a fully functioning supermarket whilst retaining many of the existing industrial features and enhancing the buildings character.

Working within a tight time frame to achieve a new style of retail store, the New World Newmarket project required quick thinking and fast acting construction.

The existing building structure was closed in and made fit for purpose, the lift shaft was removed and a floating floor was added.

The Deli Section boasts a fully functioning commercial kitchen and an internal cool room for food storage.

The general shopping areas have been tastefully transformed, to provide an environment that looks clean and fresh, while maintaining the buildings original charm.

All services have been upgraded to suit the buildings requirements, using a mixture of new and existing.

The carpark was refurbished to provide a mixture of covered and uncovered parking plus click ‘n’ collect and delivery zones.

The back of house food preparation and storage area was segregated from the carpark using new line markings and solid fence panelling.

With a short construction time frame, and many unknowns, this project required extensive communication, coordination and an ability to problem solve at pace to achieve its on time and on budget handover.
