Q Construction delivered 12 offsite manufactured classrooms, transported to site via house moving trucks. The classrooms were installed on concrete free piles, ensuring the future removal is straight forward. Timber decks, stairs and ramps give access to the classrooms. Due to programme constraints the ablution blocks were craned into place to ensure onsite works could progress while awaiting completion of the offsite manufactured buildings.
This school has a unique structure from other MoE properties being a Public Private Partnership (PPP), meaning the buildings are privately owned and leased back from the Ministry. This added additional layers of compliance and complexity throughout the project. For example, service connections were brought to the boundary of the site for our contractors to connect to. Given program constraints to ensure the classrooms were ready for the start of Term 1, 2025, the services were brought to the boundary of our site after all of our works were completed.
The Q Team on this project worked collaboratively with all stakeholders ensuring the complexities of a PPP school were mitigated and a successful, defect free project handed over ready for Term 1.
