Te Kura Kaupapa O Maori Otepou - A Block, Tauranga

This project involved the complete strip out and refurbishment of a classroom, adjacent break-out space and art area.

The works involved removing internal linings, ceilings and floor coverings. Framing changes were made, building paper and wall insulation was installed, followed by new services. A new sliding door into the break-out space was inserted, new wall linings, ceiling grid, cabinetry, wall and floor finishes were fitted. New light fittings and an art
sink were included while the existing fire detection system was maintained. Underfloor and above ceiling insulation was also added.

The challenge

Following the removal of internal linings, some historical fire damage and water damaged framing was discovered. These were repaired following instruction by the project manager.

How we made a difference

The project ran smoothly, and the end result completed the refurbishment of A Block at this historical country school.
