The project was extensive and included a combination of bathroom modifications to a Special Needs unit to create a High Dependency facility, along with, access modifications to pathways, entranceways, door access, ramps, and channel drain alterations throughout the school.
As the works were spread around a number of separate areas of the school, and items such as the Special Needs bathroom could not be taken out of use, it was agreed to stage the completion of the work throughout several school holiday periods. While this approach extends the overall project duration, this was the best result for the school as it ensured that they could maintain operations and not be disrupted by re-timetabling certain rooms, and moving resources around.
The project was well designed to accommodate existing school constraints such as ramp lengths and door widths and then once on site was run smoothly by our site team. The school experienced little disruption, and the end product has been very well received and is very user friendly.
