The refurbishment was extensive and included; installation of stage lift, height adjustable bench, new ramps and alterations to decks, new access to the facility via. a newly formed wheelchair-friendly entrance way, new veranda roofs to cover the toilet entrance and channel drain alterations throughout the school. Some of the ramps were particularly complex and traversed steep embankments and extended 50+ meters long.
Q effectively worked with Ministry and the School who would ultimately use the buildings. We liaised with all parties on all site logistics, access, and safety during the works. This project was run in concurrently with similar works at Wellsford School next door by the same site team.
This project was a huge success on a number of fronts. The school waited a long time for the project to materialize and could have been apprehensive about the extent of disruption caused by such extensive work throughout the whole school. The professionalism, meticulous planning, and regular communication from our site team quickly put their concerns at ease and in the end the school was greatly impressed with the result.
