This new build was a full timber structure consisting of a laminated timber beam structure with concealed fixing brackets, followed by more traditional style timber framing over a rib raft style concrete slab.
Cladding features a combination of brick veneer and euro tray cladding, with a Roodlogic warm roof and large stacking aluminium doors competing the envelope.
Internally the walls were all lined with autex panelling and a suspended grid and tile ceiling and carpet completing the internal finishes.
Internal sliding doors gave the ability to join two rooms together to create larger space when required.
The timber structure included large spans and minimal tolerances for deflection and was required to be completed during the winter months to ensure the school’s roll growth expectations were met the following term. This proved an added challenge, but careful planning, programming and a collaborative approach from Q Construction’s site team allowed the work to flow and ensured cladding and linings commenced on schedule, and we completed the works on time.
