With the design brief supplied and expected opening date tabled, Q Commercial Construction commenced design for review and went on to lodge building consent.
With consent granted, Shop drawings underway and the onsite start date established The Q Team got to work.
Optimising a precast and Steel structure allowed a faster onsite build duration resulting in the building being weathertight and lockable quickly to allow the internal services first fix to commence.
It wasn’t an easy task juggling access off a busy road and adjoining supermarket parking which restricted truck access, also being on the flight path for Rotorua Airport resulting in restriction on Crane height which required approval by the Civil Aviation Authority.
Inspections took place with the client to ensure all services were installed to the correct locations as required for the specific equipment.
Linings and finishes were applied as required to meet both hygiene and functionality, along with the brand requirements.
The Clients fitout commenced and the team worked together to connect and commission to meet the schedule for opening.
The site team did an exceptional job meeting the clients expectations and providing the end result they expected.
