University of Auckland Seismic Upgrade 10 Grafton Road

The project involved the seismic strengthening of the old brick walls, parapets and chimneys.

Some deconstruction of the existing building was required to gain access for the new structural work, and then reinstatement to match the heritage features as closely as possible, working with the Heritage Architect.

There was also some special concrete drilling and cutting operations required for the fixing of structural elements. Specialist subcontractors were involved for heritage work such as solid plaster and lead and copper work.
