A change in leasing provided an opportunity to expand and modernise NZ Blood’s existing laboratory and collection centre.
Some deconstruction of the existing building was required to gain access for the new structural work, and then reinstatement to match the heritage features as closely as possible, working with the Heritage Architect.
There was also some special concrete drilling and cutting operations required for the fixing of structural elements. Specialist subcontractors were involved for heritage work such as solid plaster and lead and copper work.
